Creative expression has always been a part of Ann’s life. From a young age, she spent her time drawing, painting, and constructing dioramas from materials found in nature. In high school, she fell in love with graphic design and helped teach fellow students how to use desktop software to create graphic art. She followed this new passion to college in Phoenix, AZ, where she studied Visual Communication.

Her first professional role was that of Designer and Art Director for a Fortune 500 company creating advertisements and direct mail pieces for companies like Apple, HP, and NEC. She then moved up to Seattle, WA where she developed branding, advertisements, and merchandising for companies like Egghead Software, First Tech Credit Union, OnPoint Credit Union, Union Bay Clothing Company, and the 14/48 Theater Festival. During this time, she also developed sitemaps, wireframes, website designs, and FileMaker databases. She collaborated with developers to produce various websites for nonprofit organizations, financial institutions, tech companies, and e-commerce B2C and B2B sites.

Ann then left the workforce to freelance from home while raising her children. When her youngest went off to kindergarten, she decided to follow suit and went back to school to study web development. After earning a Web Application Developer Certificate from Edmonds Community College, she relocated from Seattle to Vancouver, WA. She then earned a B.A. degree in Digital Technology and Culture at WSU Vancouver to broaden her knowledge in user experience design and psychology, adding to her 15+ years of experience as a Visual and UX/UI Designer.
