The animated poster was designed to inform and celebrate the live broadcast event of International Clash Day 2019. The project required precise timing and creative storytelling to capture the energy and spirit of The Clash within a tight 10-second timeframe, while effectively communicating essential event details to music fans.

Role

Motion Designer & Illustrator

Animated Poster Production

  • Produced a 10-second animated poster to promote International Clash Day, optimized for digital billboards and social media.
  • Collaborated closely with event organizers to ensure all critical information was included and accurately represented.
  • Synchronized animation timing with The Clash's music to create an immersive, authentic experience.
  • Developed dynamic visual elements that capture the punk rock aesthetic of The Clash.
  • Designed motion sequences that guide viewers’ attention to essential event information.
  • Ensured animations function effectively across various screen sizes and display contexts.

Event Information Design

  • Provided details on when and where to listen to the event, including KEXP's broadcast from Studio 9294 in London.
  • Designed clear, hierarchical typography to make the event date (Thursday, February 7, 2019) and time stand out prominently.
  • Listed musical performances featuring tributes and performances by various artists.
  • Seamlessly integrated sponsor logos (L'vert, MIJ, PSB, ACLU) within the design composition.
  • Created visual emphasis on key calls-to-action to drive engagement and listenership.

Brand Identity & Visual Style

  • Developed a bold yellow and black color scheme inspired by The Clash's iconic aesthetic and punk rock heritage.
  • Illustrated silhouettes of band members for immediate visual recognition and cultural connection.
  • Incorporated distressed textures and grungy elements to authentically represent the punk ethos.
  • Designed typography treatments that balance readability with an edgy, rebellious energy.
  • Created cohesive branding that honors The Clash's legacy while appealing to contemporary audiences.
